Coordinates: 25 ° 3 ′ S , 115 ° 12 ′ E The Shire of Upper Gascoyne is a local government area (LGA) in the Australian state of Western Australia . The area is 57,939 km² and has about 250 inhabitants (2016).
Upper Gascoyne is located in the northwest of the state on the Gascoyne River about 760 kilometers north of the capital Perth . The headquarters of the Shire Council is in the village of Gascoyne Junction, where less than 100 people live (2016).

The Upper Gascoyne Council has seven members. They are elected by all residents of the LGA. Upper Gascoyne is not divided into districts. The Council Chairman and Shire President are also recruited from among the Councilor.
