Shlomo Ephraim Luntschitz
Shlomo Ephraim ben Aaron Luntschitz (* 1550 in Łęczyca , Poland ; died March 3, 1619 in Prague ) was a Jewish scholar, rabbi and commentator on the Torah .
Life
Luntschitz studied with Salomo Luria in Lublin and later headed the yeshiva in Lemberg . In 1604 he was appointed rabbi in Prague and stayed there until his death. Luntschitz is known for his commentaries on the Torah, Keli Yakar , which first appeared in Lublin in 1602. They are still known today and are printed in various editions of the Pentateuch , the five books of Moses.

- Orach le-Chayim. Prayers on special holidays such as Shabbat Shuvah and Shabbat Ha-Gadol , Lublin 1595.
- Keli Yakar. Comments on the Pentateuch, Lublin 1602.
- Siftei Da'at. a continuation of the commentaries in Keli Yakar. Prague 1610.
- Amudei Shesh. Prayers. Prague 1617.
