Shock Troopers is an Italian crossover band from Palermo that was formed in 2001.

history

The band was formed in 2001 by drummer Stefano, guitarist Fabrizio "Metal Pig", bassist Mario Cusimano and singer Vincenzo Librici. At first she played punk rock , which was influenced by the music of The Misfits , The Ramones and Motörhead . In 2002, after a few appearances in Palermo, Claudia took over the bass, so that Cusimano switched to the guitar. The music also changed so that it was more similar to that of Dirty Rotten Imbeciles , Stormtroopers of Death , old pieces from Agnostic Front and Suicidal Tendencies .

Later, a new drummer, Luigi Turchetti, and Fabietto, the new bass player, joined the band. This line-up lasted for two years and the band played some local gigs along with some small Italian and Sicilian bands.

In February 2004 the band recorded their first demo called Bad Reality . In 2005, drummer Luigi Turchetti was briefly replaced by Morgan before Giorgio Piparo replaced him. In the summer of the same year, bassist Fabietto also left the band. Andrea Arrigo took over the bass from now on. A few more appearances followed, including with Hatework . In June 2006 the band entered the Circle of Power Studios in Palermo and released their own debut album called Shock Troopers in 2007. In early 2008, the band reached a contract with Punishment 18 Records . The first album on this label was released under the name Blades and Rods in February 2010.

style

The band plays a mixture of thrash metal and crossover. The speed of the pieces is consistently high. Shock Troopers is compared to other bands like Municipal Waste , Dirty Rotten Imbeciles, Stormtroopers of Death and the early Suicidal Tendencies.
