Shoot Away

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Shoot Away is a series of arcade games produced by Namco (the developer of Pac-Man ) starting in 1984 . These are electromechanical clay target games with a projection system and light guns in the form of rifles.

Versions

  • Shoot Away (1984)
  • Shoot Away II (1993)

The differences between the two versions are minor and mainly affect the game variants. The projection screens are available in 2 sizes (167 or 260 cm wide).

description

The flat projection screen is equipped with a photo of a forest clearing including the sky. At some distance in front of it is the projection device with side brackets for the two rifles. These can be picked up properly, like real weapons. The clay pigeons always appear in different places and fly quickly through the picture. The goal is to hit as many as possible, or more than the opponent.

The game is for one or two players; there are three levels of difficulty.
