Shorty’s is a skateboard label from California (USA). The company was founded in 1992 by Tony Buyalos and April Hamrick. Clothing and accessories for skateboards and skateboard decks are produced.

In Germany only since 1998, the products found large sales between 1999 and 2001 at the time of the skateboard boom. In the 1990s, Shorty's was one of the biggest brands in skateboarding. At official tournaments such as the annual Monster Mastership , formerly in Münster , now in Leipzig , the brand stayed in the background with regard to public relations and promotion. Shorty's is still considered a cult in skateboard circles , not least because of outstanding team riders like Chad Muska , Toan Nguyen and Peter Smolik, who rode in the former professional rider team.

history

The company was founded in 1992. When Chad Muska left Toy Machine in 1996 , Buyalos made him an offer. The two got together and Shorty's started making skateboards. Muska took part in the design of the boards. In the following years a team of professional drivers was introduced. In 2003 Shorty's parted ways with the three drivers Peter Smolik, Toan Nguyen and Jesse Silvey. In 2006 the label dissolved the entire professional driver team. In 2011 the production of skateboards was stopped.

Film productions

The company produced the 44-minute long skateboarding film Fulfill The Dream with skateboarders Chad Muska, Steve Olson and Peter Smolik, among others. The film premiered on August 1, 1998. The soundtrack includes songs by Gravediggaz , Ennio Morricone and The Beatnuts, among others . More films followed.

Guilty was produced in 2001, followed by T-Stance Holmes in 2003 and How To Go Pro in 2005 . The soundtracks also contain songs by well-known artists and bands.
