Chad Muska

Chad Muska (* 20th May 1977 in Lorain , Ohio ) is an American professional skateboarder , designer and entrepreneur , and disc jockey , musician and hip-hop - producer . In addition to a successful career as an athlete, he is also involved in business in the skateboard scene and has operated various labels such as C1RCA and Shorty’s over the years .

Life

Skateboarding

In the mid-1990s, Chad Muska was homeless and lived on the beach in San Diego before he was discovered by Ed Templeton and brought onto the Toy Machine skateboarding team , where his professional career began. A little later he switched to the Shorty’s label , under whose sponsorship he was able to establish himself in the US street skateboarding scene as the winner of numerous competitions and with appearances in skate videos such as Fullfill the Dream , Anthology or How to go Pro . Shorty's also released his own designer collection of skateboard decks . Muska appears as a character and play figure in the games in the Tony Hawk's Skateboarding series and his trademark has always been a boom box , which he carried with him during public appearances.

Parallel to his active activity as a street skateboarder, Muska was also significantly involved in the development and expansion of the Shorty's skate team and ran the company Ghetto Child together with his colleague Tom Penny . In 1999 he founded C1RCA as an opportunity to sell his own shoe models and skateboards. Muska has also been a team member at Element Skateboards since 2006 . Other of his in-house sponsors are or were Etnies , Supra Footwear and Mob Griptape.

Muska as a musician

Muska is a disc jockey in Hollywood and set up his own music studio in San Diego at the beginning of the twenty-first century. Since then, Muska has been working with the Muska Beatz label as a composer and producer in the rap scene and released his first album in 2002 with guest contributions from well-known artists such as Ice-T , Mobb Deep , MC Lyte , U-God , Raekwon , Jeru The Damaja and Guru . Some of the songs also found their way into the soundtrack of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 game that year , in which Muska appears as a character. In addition to the boom box, the sampler and keyboard became his trademarks.

For Muska, skateboarding and music are inseparable from the same cultural world.

Public controversy

In 2006 there was a physical altercation with actor Kevin Connolly in a Hollywood nightclub where Muska was DJing . The trigger is said to have been a derogatory remark by Muska about his girlfriend Nicky Hilton . According to various tabloid media, Muska was in a relationship with her sister Paris several times.

Five years later, Muska was in Hollywood because of Sprayens of graffiti with a deposit of 20,000 dollars arrested.

Chad Muska has made guest appearances in a variety of music videos, including Rock Star from NERD , Bossy from Kelis, and The World's Gone Mad from Handsome Boy Modeling School . In 2005 he played a surfer in an episode of the US television series Entourage .
