Shovot ( Russian Шават ) is a place in the Uzbek province of Xorazm and the capital of the district of the same name .
location
Shovot is located in southern Uzbekistan near the border with Turkmenistan in the Karakum desert . In the south Shovots is the town of Khiva , about 20 kilometers south-east is the provincial capital Urgench . On the Turkmen side of the border, Daşoguz, is the third largest city in its southern neighbor, Turkmenistan.
