Shraga Weinberg (born March 25, 1966 in Petach Tikwa ) is an Israeli wheelchair tennis player .

Career

Shraga Weinberg has been paralyzed from birth. In wheelchair tennis, he starts in the quadriplegic class .

He participated in three Paralympic Games . In 2004 , when the quadriplegic class was held for the first time in the Paralympic program, he only competed in the singles, where he reached the quarter-finals. In 2008 , like four years before, he failed in the individual in the round of 16 to David Wagner . In doubles he won the silver medal when he reached the final. At the side of Boaz Kramer he lost in the final to David Wagner and Nick Taylor . In 2012 he reached the semi-finals in individual for the first time. This he lost to compatriot Noam Gershony , as well as the subsequent bronze match against Nick Taylor. With Gershony he won the bronze medal in doubles.

At the Wheelchair Tennis Masters , Shraga Weinberg was twice in the finals. In 2009 he was a partner of Dorrie Timmermans-van Hall , in 2012 of Antonio Raffaele . Both times, Weinberg and his partners lost to David Wagner and Nick Taylor.

In the world rankings, he achieved his best placements in both singles and doubles with first place. He achieved this for the first time in singles on October 1, 2001 and in doubles on October 13, 2003.
