The Shuzenji Romney Railway (ロ ム ニ ー 鉄 道) is a publicly accessible 1.2 km long park railway with a gauge of 15 inches (381 mm) in Niji-no-Sato (Rainbow Park) in Izu, Shizuoka on the Izu Peninsula in Japan .
Route
The railway line, which runs in a private amusement park, connects the Canadian-style village of Nelson with the British-style village of Romney.
Rail vehicles
The rail vehicles are similar to those of the English Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway on the English Channel coast in Kent , which opened in 1927. There are both steam and diesel locomotives and closed passenger cars. The main steam locomotives were modeled on the 2-6-2 Northern Rock steam locomotive of the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway in Cumbria , England.
