Siaka Bamba

Siaka Bamba (born February 2, 1976 in Daoukro , Ivory Coast) is an Ivorian football player .

The winger started playing football at RFC Daoukro in his hometown before moving to the Ivorian top club ASEC Mimosas in Abidjan . Bamba was able to win two national championships with the club, and was one of the team that won the CAF Champions League in 1998 . The final against Dynamos FC from Zimbabwe was won 4-2. This triumph is so far the only Champions League victory in the history of the club (as of July 30, 2007) . In the seven years that Bamba played in Ligue 1 , the highest division in Ivory Coast, he was able to score 86 goals.

In the winter break of the 1999/2000 season Bamba moved to the German second division team SpVgg Greuther Fürth , where he was initially intended for the second team. For the 2000/01 season Bamba moved up to the professional squad of the shamrocks . Bamba played two second division and one DFB-Pokal game before moving back to the amateur team for the 2001/02 season, which had been promoted to the Bayernliga . By the end of the 2003/04 season Bamba played 86 games in what was then the fourth-highest German division , in which he was able to score 13 goals.

Then Siaka Bamba, who Zinédine Zidane describes as his sporting role model, returned to his homeland. He joined Stade d'Abidjan , the 1966 Champions League winner. The 1.71 m tall offensive player, who played several games for the Ivorian national team , built a football school in Abidjan for 11 to 19-year-olds, whose teams also take part in the league.
