Sibur is the largest Russian petrochemical company . The holding company of the Sibur group of companies is PAO Sibur Holding . Sibur's activities cover the entire spectrum of petrochemicals: refining the raw material natural gas (Sibur processes around 30% of Russian natural gas), production of monomers and plastics, methanol production , mineral fertilizers ( Sibur Mineral Fertilizers is one of the five largest nitrogen product manufacturers in the CIS countries ), Tires ( Sibur Russian Tires is the largest tire manufacturer in Central and Eastern Europe and produces 30% of all Russian tires), synthetic rubber and plastics processing.

In 2015 Sibur had 26 production sites in Russia and employed 25,000 people.

In Tobolsk in the end point of a pipeline network is natural gas liquids (NGL). The SapSibNeftechim project is also being built there.

Ownership

As of mid-2015, the majority of Sibur's shares (50.2%) were held by Leonid Wiktorowitsch Michelson . Kirill Schamalow, the husband of Vladimir Putin's daughter Katerina Tichonowa , held around 21.3%, Gennady Timchenko held 15.3%, the remaining shares were split between current and former Sibur managers. In the fall of 2015, Michelson and Timchenko sold shares totaling a good 10% in the Chinese oil and gas company Sinopec , with Timchenko selling the most.
