Sibylle Him

Sibylle Ihm (* 1965 in Hamburg ) is a German classical philologist .

Life

Sibylle Ihm studied Classical Philology and Education at the University of Hamburg from 1984 to 1991 . From 1992 to 2002 she worked as a lecturer at the Institute for Greek and Latin Philology in Hamburg. During this time she was awarded a doctorate in 1994 with a dissertation supervised by Dieter Harlfinger . phil. PhD . From 1994 to 1997 she stayed in Rome on a scholarship from the German Research Foundation , after which she was a postdoc at graduate schools in Munich and Bochum until 2001. After her habilitation (1999), he worked as a research assistant at the University of Leipzig from 2001 , where she completed her habilitation in 2003. From 2001 to 2006 she was a Heisenberg fellow of the German Research Foundation. From 2005 to 2012 she taught as a teacher for special tasks at the University of Göttingen . In July 2010 she was appointed adjunct professor.

His main research interests are ancient medicine, Florilegia literature, Hellenistic and Augustan poetry as well as manuscript studies, the history of tradition and textual criticism. Her habilitation thesis, the critical edition of the Florilegiensammlung Loci communes des Pseudo- Maximus Confessor ( Palingenesia 73, Stuttgart 2001), appeared independently of the edition by Étienne Sargologos that was published at the same time. The edition by Sibylle Ihm was praised by experts because it was the first to take into account the complex tradition of the Florilegium.
