Palingenesia
Palingenesia - monographs and texts on classical antiquity (formerly Palingenesia. Series for classical antiquity ) is a series of ancient studies published by Christoph Schubert . It was founded in 1964 by Rudolf Stark and was initially published by Dr. Max Gehlen appeared. With volume three, the series passed into the hands of Franz Steiner Verlag , which is currently based in Stuttgart , where it is still published today. Under the editorship of Severin Koster , previously Otto Lendle and Peter Steinmetz , the former Saarbrücken series of institutes has developed into an international publication organ. The focus is on the publication of monographic works. In terms of content, the Palingenesia is geared towards ancient studies with a focus on philological research; the old history , cultural history and the reception of antiquity is being taken.
Around 100 individual volumes have appeared in the series since 1965. The language of most of the works is German, but so far they have also been published in English and Italian. The majority of the publications are monographs , but there are also collections of essays and commemorative publications . The monographs are often university papers ( dissertations and habilitations ).
