Lustrum (subtitle: International research reports from the field of classical antiquity ) is an annual series of publications devoted to classical antiquity . It is published by the Göttingen publishing house Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht .

History and profile

The series was founded in 1958. It stands in the tradition of the series of annual reports founded by Conrad Bursian on the progress of classical antiquity . The series publishes critically evaluating literature reports on international research results and development trends in important areas of classical studies. The permitted languages ​​are German, English, French, Italian and Latin.

The editors of the series are Marcus Deufert and Michael Weißenberger . Previous editors of the series were Hans Gärtner and Hubert Petersmann . The authors of individual Lustrum issues include Gesine Manuwald , Carlos Steel , Sven Lorenz , Walter Kißel , Martin Hose , Luigi Leurini , Wolfgang Luppe , Ian Storey and Giulio Vannini . 50 volumes of the series have been published so far.
