Stefan Freund
Stefan Freund (* 1969 in Schwabach ) is a German classical philologist .
Life
After graduating from the Adam-Kraft-Gymnasium in Schwabach and doing community service , Freund studied Classical Philology, Catholic Theology, Neo-Greek Studies and Archeology at the Universities of Eichstätt , Erlangen and Urbino from 1990 onwards . After graduating (1995), he wrote his dissertation Vergil in Early Christianity: Studies on the Vergil quotations in Tertullian , Minucius Felix , Novatian , Cyprian and Arnobius , with whom he Eichstaett in 1999 Hansjürgen Tschiedel and Antonie Wlosok doctorate was.
After completing his doctorate, Freund completed his legal clerkship at the Wirsberg-Gymnasium in Würzburg and then worked as a teacher at the Gregor-Mendel-Gymnasium in Amberg . In addition, he did his habilitation (from 2002 as a scholarship holder of the Bavarian Habilitation Award). From 2005 he worked as an academic adviser for classical philology at the University of Regensburg , in 2006 he completed his habilitation at the University of Eichstätt with an annotated, bilingual edition of the seventh book De vita beata from Laktanz ' Divinae institutiones . In 2008 Freund was appointed professor for Classical Philology / Latin at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal .
