Elisabeth Stein
Elisabeth Stein (born December 18, 1961 ) is a German classical and Middle Latin philologist .
Career
Elisabeth Stein received her PhD in Greek Studies from the University of Freiburg under Wolfgang Kullmann in 1989 . There she lectured in Latin studies . In 1996 she completed her habilitation on satire in the Middle Ages, also in Freiburg. This was followed by a call to the Bergische Universität Wuppertal . In 2003 she was the dean of the Department of Linguistics and Literature until it was dissolved. She holds one of the chairs of medieval studies in the field of general literary studies at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal and is currently researching the Renaissance historian Paolo Giovio .
Elisabeth Stein lives in Remscheid.
