Armin Eich

Armin Eich (born June 4, 1965 in Olpe ) is a German ancient historian .

Eich received his doctorate in 1997 at the University of Passau with Hartmut Wolff with a dissertation on political literature in Roman society and completed his habilitation there in 2003; The topic of the habilitation thesis published in 2004 was The Political Economy of Ancient Greece . He then continued to work as a private lecturer and senior assistant at the University of Passau. In 2007/2008 he was a substitute professor at Bielefeld University . He also worked as a private lecturer at the University of Regensburg . In 2010, Eich was appointed W3 professor at the University of Wuppertal .

Eich deals with topics from both Greek and Roman history. There he conducts research in particular on the administration of the Roman army and the history of the Roman army.

Eich's younger brother Peter Eich is also an ancient historian.
