The Sidell Spur is a 2.5 km long and distinctive mountain ridge on the Brabant Island in the Palmer Archipelago off the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula . It extends from the central massif of the island in a westerly direction. The mountain ridge has a summit crown, borders the northern flank of the Rush Glacier and ends in the form of a massive cliff at Dallmann Bay .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 2010 after the US marine biologist Bruce David Sidell (1948–2011) from the University of Maine , who conducted 15 field research campaigns from 1987 onwards, pioneering studies on the physiology of Antarctic fish in the Palmer Archipelago and the southern region Shetland Islands .
