Sidharth Malhotra
Sidharth Malhotra (born January 16, 1985 in Delhi ) is a former model and Indian actor who made his debut in Karan Johars Student of the Year in 2012 .
Life
Unlike most Bollywood actors, Sidharth Malhotra doesn't come from a family that works in the film industry. His father Sunil Malhotra was a former employee of the Indian Merchant Navy and his mother Rimmi Malhotra is a housewife. He has two siblings, a sister Akanksha and a brother Punit. Malhotra attended St. Xavier School in Delhi. At the age of 18, Malhotra began a career as a model because he enjoyed it and made money.
After four years as a model, he wanted to try something new. In 2010 he worked alongside Karan Johar as an assistant director on My Name Is Khan . He made his acting debut two years later in Karan Johar's romantic film Student of the Year . He played the role of Abhimanyu Singh, who comes from the middle class and wants to achieve great things. At the side of Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt, he convinced the critics and viewers. It won the Stardust Award for Best Breakthrough.
In the romantic comedy Hasee Toh Phasee with Parineeti Chopra , he played Nikhil Bhardwaj, who wants to marry his girlfriend but falls in love with her younger sister Meeta while preparing for the wedding and runs away with her.
