Sidney Cristiano dos Santos , called Tita , (born July 20, 1981 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a Turkish - Brazilian soccer player . During his time at Ankaraspor he took on Turkish citizenship and has since played in Turkey under a native status.

Career

In his homeland, Tita played for Ituano FC . After only a year he went abroad. He signed with Ankaraspor in Turkey . There he was under contract for a total of seven years, but he only played three full seasons for the team (2004/05, 2005/06 & 2007/08). The 2006/07 season he played for city rivals MKE Ankaragücü . From 2008 to 2011 Tita was on loan at Medical Park Antalyaspor . In July 2011 he finally moved to Antalyaspor.

After his club missed relegation in the summer of 2014, Tita left after six years. Tita signed a two-year contract with Mersin İdman Yurdu on July 23, 2014 .

Tita is a Turkish citizen. In his Turkish passport he bears the name Melih Gökçek - he has chosen the name of the president of his long-term association Ankaraspor, who is also mayor of Ankara.
