Sidney Herbert Ray

Sidney Herbert Ray ( May 28, 1858 - January 1, 1939 ) was a British teacher and linguist. His research area were the Melanesian languages .

He was a participant in the famous Cambridge Anthropological Expedition to the Torres Straits (1898-99) and published the volume on linguistics (1907) in their research report .
