Sidse Werner

Sidse Werner (born December 31, 1931 in Odense ; † June 24, 1989 ) was a Danish architect and industrial designer . She was a representative of Scandinavian design .

Life

Sidse Werner studied at the University of Architecture and Industrial Design (Kongelige Danske Kunstakademis Skoler for Arkitektur, Design og Konservering - Arkitektskolen) in Copenhagen . She then worked for a few years as an assistant in Nanna Ditzel’s drawing office . A grant from the National Bank of Denmark's Jubilee Foundation enabled her to stay in the United States of America in 1969, where she studied plastic as a molding material. From 1970 she had her own drawing office, where she designed numerous furniture, textiles, glass and lighting objects.

Sidse Werner showed her work in exhibition houses in London, Paris, New York, San Francisco, Cologne, Frankfurt am Main, Hanover, Tokyo, Stockholm and Milan. The Glass History Society ( Glashistorisk Selskab Holbæk ) in Holbæk exhibits numerous works by Werner.
