Siduction is a non-commercial Linux distribution for desktop computers and notebooks based on Debian unstable . Siduction is a fork of Aptosid , which was formed due to differences in dealing with the user community. One of Siduction's greatest strengths is the involvement and active participation of the end users in the development of the operating system.
Surname
The name siduction is a combination of two terms. The word sid (that's the code name of Debian Unstable) and the English word seduction, which means seduction.
history
Siduction is a spin-off from Aptosid. Aptosid split off in July 2011. Some now ex-Aptosid developers were very dissatisfied with the way the community was dealt with and therefore founded Siduction.
Publications
Siduction is a rolling release because it is linked to Debian sid . The release of a new version does not make it necessary to reinstall the system to get updated packages. Instead, updates are regularly incorporated into the system through updates. New versions of Siduction are linked to major innovations in Sid or in the supported desktop environments. The aim is to publish a new version of Siduction between two to four times a year. Publications are not based on a fixed schedule.
From version 2013.2, Siduction uses systemd as the init system.
