The Siebensternviertel is located in the center of Neubau , the 7th district of Vienna . The district is bordered by Mariahilfer Straße in the south, Neubaugasse in the west, Lerchenfelder Straße in the north and the MuseumsQuartier in the east.

Districts

The Siebensternviertel includes the Sankt Ulrich district , the Spittelberg as well as parts of the old suburb of Neubau and smaller parts of Mariahilf and the Laimgrube . St Ulrich is the oldest of the named districts. This district was first mentioned in the early 13th century. The Spittelberg is also entirely in the Siebensternviertel. Until the construction of the citizens' hospital, which also gave the district its name (Spital + Berg), it was only sparsely populated. The Spittelberg has changed from a red light and poor district to a residential area of Vienna.

Attractions

In addition to churches such as the Ulrichskirche , the Mechitaristenkirche and the collegiate church "Zum Heiligen Kreuz" you will also find some monuments, one of the six Viennese flak towers in the collegiate barracks and the smallest house in Vienna on Burggasse. The flair of the Siebensternviertel, in addition to its sights, is mainly due to its small business premises. There are organic shops, coffees and restaurants, galleries and small theaters, craft and fashion shops, small studios and traditional businesses.
