The parish church of St. Ulrich and Maria Trost is a Roman Catholic church in Vienna's 7th district, Neubau .

The church is located on the slope between the higher Burggasse and the lower Neustiftgasse, where the bed of the Ottakringerbach used to be , on St. Ulrichs-Platz. The free-standing baroque hall church shows the two-tower facade with an outside staircase down the slope to Neustiftgasse and the long, half-height converted choir to Burggasse. The church gave its name to the previously independent suburban community of St. Ulrich .

A chapel was mentioned in 1211. In 1408 the first church was built, which was incorporated into the Schottenstift in 1451 , damaged in 1474 and destroyed in 1529. In 1574 the ruins were removed. From 1589 the reconstruction took place with the re-establishment of the parish, from 1651 a new construction of the choir and tower. The nave was built between 1670 and 1672. The church was destroyed in 1683 and restored in 1694. The current church was built from 1721 to 1724 by the master builder Josef Reymund , the additions were made until 1752, the towers were completed in 1771.

The south gable facade is flanked by two recessed towers with tent roofs, originally onion helmets. The north-facing choir has a roof turret with an onion helmet. The outside staircase to the main portal bears stone figures of Saints Benedikt, Ulrich, Aloysius and Johannes Nepomuk by the sculptor Franz Xaver Seegen (1724–1780), who also has the niche figure of St. Ulrich above the rectangular portal in the gable facade.

The altars of red stucco marble, created after the middle of the 18th century, bear white-framed figures by Franz Xaver Seegen. The altarpiece Vision of St. Ulrich in the battle on the Lechfeld painted Paul Troger in 1750 . To the side of the choir is a sideboard with the picture Offering in the Temple by Johann Bergl. The first side altar shows the picture Farewell of the Apostles Peter and Paul by Josef Ignaz Mildorfer before 1756. The second side altar has an altarpiece Martyrdom der Hll. Judas Thaddäus and Simon Zelotes by Franz Anton Maulbertsch around 1760. The third side altar shows the picture Glorie des St. John Nepomuk in 1750 and the fourth side altar picture Sts. Benedict and Scholastica . Two large former side altar paintings show the birth of Christ (Franz Russ, around 1870) and the glory of St. Ulrich (Josef Neugebauer, around 1865). An image of the Madonna is a copy of the miraculous image of Maria Trost in the Mariatrost Basilica in Graz around 1700.

To the east of the choir, in the extension from 1752 that surrounds the choir, there is a rectangular vaulted chapel with a remarkable burial group with six figures from the third quarter of the 18th century next to the sacristy.

The organ with a classicist front was built by Josef Loyp in 1842 . The three bells were cast in 1770 by Caspar Hofbauer the Elder (1747–1783) and - probably also by the Hofbauer foundry - in 1882.
