When the Evangelical Parish in Gumpendorf was replaced with the Gustav Adolf Church in 1929, the Evangelical Parish in Vienna-Neubau and Fünfhaus was founded . The church was built from 1959 to 1962 according to the plans of the architects Friedrich Rollwagen and Henry Lutz. The church as part of a residential complex takes a back seat in the cityscape. A side wall of the hall church was made with twelve colored glass mosaic windows in the sense of a calvary from baptism to crucifixion by the painter Dietmar Tadler with the company Geyling . The altar wall, which is indirectly illuminated from above, has a mighty sculptureRisen from bronze by the sculptor Heinz Glawischnig . There is an organ gallery on two steel pillars. An electronic organ from 1978 is from Ahlborn . A painting The Baptism of Jesus hangs near the baptismal font , which Max Klinger probably painted in 1920. The unfinished and damaged picture was supplemented and restored by Johanna Jungmeier in 1990. There is a cloth application Last Supper from 1992 by Krista Leitgeb , which refers to the Ecumenical Assembly for Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation. In 1993 Heinrich Blaas created a mosaic Luther rose in the entrance portal on the street side. The chapel on the street side contains the painting Passion of the Earth by the painter Elisabeth Rubik-Jungmeier on the altar wall . In 1996 the sculptor Willi Engelmayer created a baptismal font with a round tablet next to the pulpit and the altar. The foyer was designed in 1998 with a cycle of pictures, Face of Christ by the painter Gottfried Hula .

The church has an inductive hearing system .

The chapel is used by the Hungarian Pastoral Service.
