from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Siegebod Schack († 1261 ) was canon of Lübeck from 1234 to 1259 and canon of Schwerin from 1240–1251 .

Life

Siegebod Schack came from a knight family originally from Lower Saxony, then resident in Saxony-Lauenburg and Mecklenburg .

Siegebod was a subdeacon and from March 15, 1234 to October 24, 1259 canon of Lübeck. From March 17, 1248, the provost's office was also part of his office. In 1259 he appeared as provost as well as a buyer of goods at Puttekendorpe.

From May 20, 1240 to June 26, 1251 Siegebod Schack can be traced as Canon of Schwerin. In 1240 he traveled with a Hamburg canon to the papal curia in order to obtain a papal dispensation for the Schwerin Elect Dietrich . On April 27, 1248 he was mentioned as archdeacon of the Schwerin church, but it could also have been Tribsees .

Siegebod must have died before April 27, 1261, as his successor in the Lübeck provost was already named at that time. His memorial celebration in Lübeck is specified in the local prebend directory, in the directory of vicarages he was named as the founder of two vicar positions.
