Siegfried Haberl

Siegfried "Sigi" Haberl (born February 17, 1967 ) is a former Austrian ice hockey player . The striker was an Austrian international.

He played at EHC Lustenau , Wiener EV and VEU Feldkirch . He was runner-up in 1988 with Vienna and Austrian champion with Feldkirch in 1994, 1995 and 1996 and Alpine League champion in 1996. With Lustenau he made the national league championship in 1997 and 2006 and with Feldkirch in 2002. In 2008 he ended his career.

With the national team he took part in the B-World Cup in 1989 . After the game against Norway, he was tested positive for testosterone in the doping control and banned for 18 months. After his suspension, he was called back to the national team for the 1991 World Cup .

After the end of his career, his shirt number was blocked at Lustenau .
