The Silver Rasbora ( Rasbora Argyrotaenia ( Gr "Argyro" = silver;. Lat . "Taenia" = stripes)) is a small carp fish that on the Malay Peninsula , Singapore , and the Indonesian Islands Sumatra , Kalimantan , Bangka and Belitung occurs .

features

The silver barb reaches a body length of 15 to 17 centimeters. Its body is slim, elongated and clearly flattened on the sides. The basic color is silvery. A cream-colored band, which is accompanied by a blue-green to black line at the bottom, extends from the rear edge of the gill cover to the root of the caudal fin. The eyes are light yellow. The fins are transparent, the paired slightly yellowish. The caudal fin is lined with deep black. The sideline is complete. Females have a more bulged belly line.

The silver harlequin is active swimming, a good jumper, lives in forest streams and feeds on worms, small crustaceans and insects.
