Silver is a Norwegian glam punk rock band . Founded in Flekkefjord in 1996, they made their debut in 2000 with the EP Billboard Blackout . In terms of content, Silver often follows Christian texts and contents, for example the song Field Of Blood is about the betrayal of Jesus by Judas.

history

Silver were one of the winning bands at the Zoom Festival 2000 and were selected for the following Zoom tour in Norway , England and Scotland in spring 2001. In the same year they released the EP Riot 1-2-3 on Virgin Records . Another release was the album White Diary , followed by the singles Angels Calling , The Sin Fix Journal and Funeral Class One .

While Angels Calling was a hit, with constant radio and television appearances, the song was never fully accepted by Silver's "hardcore" fans. After White Diary Emil Nikolaisen resigned as drummer and was replaced first by Kim Akerholdt and finally by Jonas Thire from the band Amulet .

On May 8, 2006, the album World Against World came out. The video for the single The Personal Decay was played repeatedly on the radio and on the Norwegian music channel Svisj .

In the years from 2001 to 2006, Silber gave over 220 concerts in Norway and abroad (Germany, England, Japan, Italy, Austria, Finland, USA, Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands, Slovenia, Scotland). This included an appearance at the Roskilde Festival in 2004 and an appearance on Italian television. In Norway, Silver gave concerts in Harstad, Kristiansand, Rockefeller in Oslo, and at the dairy in Sogndal. The band won the Alarm Award in 2004.
