Silvia Kesselheim

Silvia Kesselheim (born July 21, 1942 in Hamburg ; † April 28, 2009 there ) was a German dancer.

Life

She received her dance training at the Opera Ballet School in her hometown and at the Royal Ballet School in London . Her first engagement was in 1960/61 at the State Opera Ballet of the Hamburg State Opera . From 1961 to 1965 she danced with the Stuttgart Ballet under John Cranko and from 1965 to 1971 at the Deutsche Oper Berlin , where she was recognized by the music critic Klaus Geitel in 1967.

Your next stops were in 1971/72, the German Opera on the Rhine , and from 1972 to 1975, the Dance Theater of Gerhard Bohner in Darmstadt . After that she only appeared as a guest in Bohner's productions. She created numerous roles in Bohner's ballets, including Die Befristeten , Quartet on the End of Time (both 1969), The Tortures of Beatrice Cenci (1970) and Lilith (1972).

Since 1983 she was a dancer at the Tanztheater Wuppertal of Pina Bausch . She was involved in the creation of Auf dem Gebirge one heard a shout and Viktor helped and was often cast by Pina Bausch for revivals. She had great success as Anna I in The Seven Deadly Sins , where she also demonstrated her singing and musical skills. She later fell into oblivion, and the dance world did not hear of her death.
