Silvio Laurenti Rosa

Silvio Laurenti Rosa (born February 21, 1892 in Viterbo , † December 24, 1965 in Rome ) was an Italian film director and actor and screenwriter .

Life

After studying electrical engineering and working on ships and in the navy, Laurenti Rosa turned to the theater and played on various stages alongside early silent film greats such as Carlo Alberto Lolli and Alberto Degli Abbati . Through these relationships he also succeeded in moving to the cinema, where he was employed, among other things, as assistant to Umberto Paradisi . During the First World War he worked for the troops' film service (“Servizio Cinematografico dell'Armata”) and shot battle scenes at the front.

After a further period in the second row, Laurenti Rosa made her debut as a director in 1920 and from then on made some silent films at certain intervals . He was able to keep pace with the transition to the sound film era and was represented as a one-man operation - who also produced and wrote his films - in 1938 with Naufraghi , ten years later with … E non dirsi addio (started in 1943) and in 1951 with La folla , although mostly in a few copies and suburban cinemas. Two other works were created under the pseudonym Sasy Rolvy .
