Silvio Padoin

Silvio Padoin (born April 11, 1930 in Pieve di Soligo ; † October 31, 2019 in Conegliano ) was an Italian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Pozzuoli .

Life

Silvio Padoin was ordained a priest on April 9, 1955 . Padoin worked as secretary of the Italian Bishops' Conference and from 1961 to 1989 in the Congregation for Bishops in the Vatican, there from 1990 as Undersecretary of State.

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Pozzuoli on May 8, 1993 . The Cardinal Dean and Cardinal Prefect of the Congregation for Bishops , Cardinal Bernardin Gantin , ordained him episcopal on June 26 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Salvatore Sorrentino , Bishop Emeritus of Pozzuoli, and Eugenio Ravignani , Bishop of Vittorio Veneto .
