Sim Gokkes (born February 5, 1897 in Amsterdam , † 1943 in Auschwitz concentration camp ) was a Dutch composer.

As a child, Sim Gokkes received singing lessons from the opera singer Ben Geysel and from Victor Schlesinger, the cantor of the Rapenburg Synagogue in Amsterdam. He studied composition with Sem Dresden as well as piano and flute at the Amsterdam Conservatory .

Sim Gokkes has directed various choirs throughout his life. For many years he was director of Santo Serviçio , the choir of the Portuguese synagogue in Amsterdam . Gokkes is known as a innovator of synagogal music . His compositions deal primarily with religious themes.

Gokkes was murdered in Auschwitz in 1943 with his wife, the pianist Rebecca Winnik, and their two children .
