Simeon Nöthiger

Simeon Nöthiger (born December 23, 1658 in Bern , † May 27, 1726 in Bern) was a Swiss Protestant theologian .

Life

Simeon Nöthiger was born in Bern as the son of the butcher Martin Nöthiger and Katharina Nöthiger. From 1673 he studied theology in Bern. In 1690 he became pastor in Bolligen , in 1695 in Worb and in 1699 third parish assistant in Bern. In 1700 he became first helper in Bern, in 1709 third pastor at the Münster , in 1714 second pastor, in 1716 first pastor and finally dean in 1718 . From 1690 he was married to Elisabeth Fellenberg , from 1718 in second marriage to Anna Maria Sinner .
