Simon Casel

Simon Casel (born September 21, 1981 in Trier ) is a former German basketball player on the wing position . The 2.00 meter tall Casel played a total of 73 Bundesliga games for Trier between 1999 and 2004 .

career

Casel left his hometown Trier in 1998 to play one season at Lindenhurst High School in New York State . After his return he was in the Bundesliga squad of TVG Trier and made his debut in the top German division in October 1999. In 2001 he won the DBB Cup with Trier. In the 2001/02 season Casel played again in the United States, at Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire . For the college's basketball team, he played 30 games in the second division of the NCAA and scored an average of 5.8 points and 3.9 rebounds per use.

Between 2002 and 2004 he played again for Trier in the Bundesliga and was mostly used as a supplementary player. He recorded the highest average playing time of his Bundesliga career in the 2000/01 season, when he played around eight minutes per game. In the 2004/05 season Casel wore the jersey of the second division club USC Heidelberg . From 2006 he played for the TVG Baskets Trier and was involved in the Trier youth work. Among other things, he was the coach of Trier's team in the youth basketball league and in 2011 took over the overall sporting management of the TBB Trier's youth development team .
