Simon I of Montfort
Simon I (* before 1038; † September 25 , probably 1087 ) was the third lord of Montfort . He was the son of Amalrich I von Montfort and Bertrada von Gometz .
He continued the work on the Montfort-l'Amaury castle that his father and grandfather had started and is also responsible for the construction of the Saint-Pierre church and the Saint-Laurent chapel in town.
His first marriage was Isabelle de Broyes, daughter of Hugues Bardoul, Lord of Broyes and Pithiviers . Your children were:
- Amalrich II († 1089), Lord of Montfort
- Isabelle ⚭ Raoul II. De Tosny († 1112), Lord of Conches-en-Ouche ( Tosny House )
In his second marriage he married Agnes von Évreux, daughter of Richard , Count von Évreux , from the house of the Rollonids ; with her he had three children:
- Bertrada († 1117) ⚭ 1) 1089 with Count Fulko IV of Anjou (1043–1109) and ⚭ 2) 1092 with King Philippe I of France († 1108)
- Richard († 1092), Lord of Montfort
- Simon II († 1101), Lord of Montfort
- Amalrich III. († 1137), Lord of Montfort and Count of Évreux .
He died on September 25th, probably in 1087, and was buried at Epernon .
