Simon IV (Lippe)

Simon IV zur Lippe (* around 1404; † August 11, 1429 ) was sovereign of the Lippe rule from 1415 to 1429 .

Life

He was born around 1404 as the son of Bernhard VI. zur Lippe and his second wife Elisabeth von Moers and took office in 1415.

When in 1424 Count Adolf IX. von Schaumburg tried to regain the territory of the County of Sternberg , which had already been pledged to the noble lords of the Lippe in 1400 , although the Extertal was devastated in a bitter feud and the church and castle in Bösingfeld were destroyed, but Simon succeeded in taking countermeasures into the County of Sternberg claim.

Simon was married (around 1426) to Duchess Margaretha von Braunschweig (* 1411; † October 31, 1456), daughter of Duke Erich von Braunschweig-Grubenhagen , and had two sons with her: Simon , who later became the Prince-Bishop of Paderborn , and Bernhard " Bellicosus ” , who became his successor.
