Simon Millman

Simon Alexander Millman (born January 14, 1977 ) is an Australian politician . He has been a working member of the Western Australian Legislative Assembly, representing Mount Lawley, since the 2017 state elections .

Life

Millman graduated from the University of Western Australia with a law degree and worked as an industrial relations attorney for Slater and Gordon.

He is one of five members of the Assembly's Audit Committee and is responsible for overseeing the Prime Minister, Treasurer , Minister of Finance , Minister of Public Sector Administration and Minister of State Relations.

Millman was a member of the Joint Parliamentary Committee that conducted the investigation into the need for laws in Western Australia to allow citizens "to make informed decisions about their own end-of-life choices" (also known as the End of Life Choices Committee ) which was set up on August 23, 2017 and submitted to Parliament on August 23, 2018 . He then headed a panel of experts convened by Attorney General John Quigley to make recommendations for possible improvements in the form and application of Advance Health Directives.

In 2019 , Millman visited Israel as part of a delegation on health and medical innovation led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health Roger Cook, organized by the Australia-Israel Chamber of Commerce (WA).

Speaking in the Legislative Assembly, Millman said of the trip:

"Western Australia shares with Israel both an entrepreneurial spirit and a tradition of outstanding medical innovation. The caliber of delegates on the trip was evidence of both attributes."
