Simon Rubinstein
Simon Rubinstein (circa 1910–1942) was an Austrian chess player. Not to be confused with the Polish chess player Akiba Rubinstein . Simon Rubinstein took part in the Leopold Trebitsch Memorial tournaments in Vienna several times : In 1932 he was 12th ( Albert Becker won), 11th and 12th. in 1933 ( Ernst Grünfeld and Hans Müller won), shared 6./7. 1936 ( Henryk Friedman won) and came second behind Lajos Steiner in 1937/38. At the first city championship in Vienna in 1936 he finished second behind Esra Glass , when he played for SC Hakoah Vienna . Rubinstein died in a concentration camp in 1942 . According to ChessMetrics, its highest historical rating was 2540 in March 1937.
