Sinch is an American alternative rock band.

history

Sinch was founded by Jamie Stem ( vocals ), Tony Lannutti ( guitar ), Mike Abramson ( bass guitar ) and Dan McFarland ( drums ) in 1994, towards the end of their high school years. In 1996 the band released the first album, The Strychnine , which was produced by the band itself. In the next few years Sinch played numerous concerts, especially in the Philadelphia area . In 1998 Diatribe was released , which brought them appearances as the opening act for Linkin Park , Korn and Rob Zombie . After they signed a recording deal with Roadrunner Records in 2001 , their breakthrough came in 2002 with the album Sinch , which sold nearly 100,000 worldwide. Shortly before, Jay Smith had joined the band, who, however, does not play a conventional musical instrument, but the so-called viditar, a guitar-like video clip manipulation device that is used when the band performs live. In 2005 the band moved to the independent label Rock Ridge Music and recorded the album Clearing the Channel . In 2009 the band announced that they wanted to record their next album without the support of a record company and instead rely on crowdfunding . Fans can sign up for 10 US dollars to participate in the financing of the recordings and for download the album as soon as it appears. If you pay a higher amount, you can, for example, pre-order a signed CD or a T-shirt.
