Siniša Rodin

Siniša Rodin (* 1963 ) is a Croatian lawyer and judge at the European Court of Justice .

Live and act

Rodin studied until 1987 law , among others at the University of Zagreb , where he 1995 Dr. iur. received his doctorate. As early as 1992 he had at the University of Michigan Law School the Master of Laws acquired. Rodin specialized in European law and subsequently worked as a visiting scholar at the European University Institute in Florence, the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law in Heidelberg and the Harvard Law School . Since 2006 he has held the Jean Monnet Chair at the University of Zagreb, and since 2011 also ad personam. From 2006 to 2011 Rodin was a member of the Croatian negotiating team for Croatia's accession to the European Union and from 2009 to 2010 a member of the Croatian Commission for Constitutional Reform. His academic work focuses on the law of international comparison and interpretation of the constitution, fundamental human rights and the law of European integration and fundamental European freedoms. Together with Tamara Ćapeta he is the author of the first textbook on European law in Croatian.

Rodin has been the first Croatian judge at the European Court of Justice since July 4, 2013 .
