The Siple Ridge is a 5 km long, 800 m wide and up to 2570 m high mountain ridge in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Quartermain Mountains , it is the more northerly second mountain range that extends from Mount Feather in a westerly direction. Its narrow ridge is covered in ice, while its steeply sloping flanks are not icy in many places.
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1992 after Ruth J. Siple (1912-2004), wife of the American polar explorer Paul Siple and from 1988 until her death honorary president of the Antarctican Society , which on January 9, 1975 at the opening of the the new Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station was present.
