history
The village was discovered during a visit by the governor of Venezuela, Francisco de la Hoz Berrios, to the Tocuyo region between June and August 1620. The bishop of Venezuela Fray Gonzalo de Angulo established the Indian village of San José de Siquisique under the administration of Carora . Francisco Cano Valero became the juez poblador or founding judge on August 3rd. The original village was actually built west of Carora, on the edge of the Sicare River. Then one moved to the present place.
