The Tocuyo is a river in northwestern Venezuela . It is 440 km long. The origin of the Tocuyos is in the mountains of the Andes at 3652 m , near the Cendé Mountains. It crosses the state of Lara from south to north and partially forms the border between the states of Lara and Falcón . South of Churuguara it begins to flow towards the northeast, through a very fertile valley. The Tocuyo flows into the Caribbean , 3 km from El Tocuyo de la Costa, at Golfo Triste.
