Sir Arthur Lewis Community College (abbr .: SALCC ) is the only community college in the Caribbean island state of St. Lucia . The college was founded in 1985 and is named after the economist and Nobel Prize winner Sir Arthur Lewis .

Teaching

The college offers several courses in agriculture, technology and health care, teacher training (Joint Board of Teacher Education for the Eastern Caribbean), and preparatory courses for the A-level exams in three faculties (divisions) . There is also a course for Early Childhood Development (ECD). The courses are strongly practice-oriented. The college is in close proximity to the University of the West Indies campus .
