Sarah Flood-Beaubrun

Sarah Flood-Beaubrun (born January 8, 1969 ) is a Lucian politician and lawyer . She has been Minister of Foreign Affairs and Finance of the island state since July 25, 2016 .

Career

She entered parliament for the first time in 1997 and served as Minister of Health in the government from 1997 to 2001 . From 2001 to 2004 Flood-Beaubrun was Santa Lucia's Minister of the Interior . From 2006 to 2008 she worked as a speaker for parliament. 2008 she became Permanent Representative of Saint Lucia to New York City in the headquarters of the United Nations . In the parliamentary election on June 6, 2016, Flood-Beaubrun was able to prevail in the constituency of Castries Central and thus again entered the Lucian parliament for the United Workers Party (UWP), which after the general election holds an absolute majority with 11 out of 17 seats . On July 25, 2016, Sarah Flood-Beaubrun was sworn in as Minister of Finance, Economic Growth, Job Creation, Foreign Affairs and Public Service.

Flood-Beaubrun founded the Caribbean Center for Family and Human Rights (CARIFAM) in February 2012.

She is married and has two kids.
