The Mukhra Thuthai Haphong (also Mukhrathuthai Haphong ) is a mountain near the border triangle between Bangladesh , India and Myanmar .
location
The summit of the mountain is located in the Upazila Belaichori in southeast Bangladesh in the south of the Rangamati district , which belongs to the Chittagong Hill Tracts of the Chittagong Division, in the Mizo Hills, a range of hills that forms a southern foothill of the Himalayas , a few hundred meters west of the border with Myanmar . The flanks of the mountain extend into the Mindat district in Myanmar's Chin state and into the Lawngtlai district in the Indian state of Mizoram . The border point between the three states is the Tinmukh or Tinmatha pillar peak, a small elevation on the northern flank of the mountain about 500 meters from the summit.
The next inhabited settlement is the mountain village of Dhupanichora Para, about two kilometers southwest of the summit at an altitude of about 620 meters.
height
The height of the Mukhra Thuthai Haphong was determined during an excursion by the BD Explorer in July 2013. The altitude measured with GPS was 3,128 feet (953 meters). ACME Mapper states the height of the mountain as 954 meters. This makes the Mukhra Thuthai Haphong one of the ten highest mountains in Bangladesh .
The closest mountain that is higher than the Mukhra Thuthai Haphong is the Maithai Jama Haphong ( 966 m ). Dumlong ( 997 m ), about seven kilometers to the north, is even higher . About ten to fifteen kilometers southwest of the Mukhra Thuthai Haphong are other mountains that, with a height of over 900 meters, are among the highest peaks in Bangladesh, including the Keokradong (980 m ), the Thingdawl Te Tlang (944 m ), the Capital Hill ( 933 m ) and the Taung circle (925 m ). About 22 kilometers south of the Mukhra Thuthai Haphong is the Mowdok Mual , which is the highest mountain in Bangladesh with a height of 1045 meters.
