The Maithai Jama Haphong (also Maithaijama Haphong ) is a mountain in Bangladesh on the border with India .

The summit of the mountain is located in the Upazila Belaichori in southeastern Bangladesh in the south of the Rangamati District , which belongs to the Chittagong Hill Tracts of the Chittagong Division, in the Mizo Hills, a range of hills that forms a southern foothill of the Himalayas , just under one kilometer west of the border with India . The flanks of the mountain extend into the Lawngtlai district in the Indian state of Mizoram .

The height of the Maithai Jama Haphong was determined during an excursion by the BD Explorer in December 2014. The altitude measured with GPS was 3,174 feet (967 meters). On another expedition about a month later, the altitude was measured to be 3,178 feet (969 meters). ACME Mapper states the height of the mountain as 966 meters. This makes the Maithai Jama Haphong one of the ten highest peaks in Bangladesh .

The closest mountain, which is higher than the Maithai Jama Haphong, is Dumlong ( 997  m ), about three kilometers to the north . About three kilometers south of Maithai Jama Haphong is the slightly lower Mukhra Thuthai Haphong ( 954  m ). Approximately ten to fifteen kilometers southwest to south-southwest of Maithai Jama Haphong are other mountains that, with a height of over 900 meters, are among the highest peaks in Bangladesh, including the Keokradong ( 980  m ), the Thingdawl Te Tlang ( 944  m ), the capital Hill ( 933  m ) and the Taung district ( 925  m ). About 25 kilometers south of the Mukhra Thuthai Haphong is the Mowdok Mual , which is the highest mountain in Bangladesh with a height of 1045 meters.
