The Kreikung Taung (also Ngaramh Tlang ) is a mountain in Bangladesh .
location
The mountain is located in southeast Bangladesh in the Upazila Belaichhari in the south of the Rangamati district , which belongs to the Chittagong Hill Tracts of the Chittagong division, in the Mizo Hills, a range of hills that forms a southern foothill of the Himalayas , about four kilometers west of the border with Myanmar .
height
During an excursion with the BD Explorer in December 2012, the height of the Kreikung Taung was also determined. The altitude measured with GPS was 3083 feet (939 meters). ACME Mapper states the height of the mountain as 944 meters. This makes the Taung district one of the highest peaks in Bangladesh .
The closest mountain, which is higher than Kreikung Taung, is Thingdawl Te Tlang ( 944 m ), two kilometers south . Within a radius of about 10 kilometers from Kreikung Taung there are other mountains that, with a height of over 900 meters, are among the highest peaks in Bangladesh, including the Keokradong ( 980 m ), the Maithaijama Haphong (966 m ), the Mukhra Thuthai Haphong (954 m ) and Capital Hill ( 933 m ). About 16 kilometers south of Kreikung Taung is the Mowdok Mual , which is the highest mountain in Bangladesh with a height of 1045 meters.
